Franklin Delano Mitchell, 79, of Ashland, KY., formerly of Huntington, widower of Edna Carol Mitchell, died Thursday, April 14, 2022 at his residence. He was born February 7, 1943 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Newton James and Lennie Mae Roach Mitchell. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Alvin Mitchell, Charlotte McCreary, Jerry Mitchell, Delford Mitchell, Elouise Taylor. Franklin was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a mechanical engineer having worked for F.O.S. Signs. Survivors include his three daughters, Roxanne Mitchell of Johnson City, TN, Daphnee Mitchell of Tampa, FL, and Valerie Nolin of Ft. Myers, FL; three sons, Delano Mitchell of Tampa, FL, Tracy Mitchell of Tampa, FL, and Bryan Mitchell and wife, Stacy Mitchell of Ashland, KY; grandchildren, Alex, Donita, Jason, Barry, Adam, Brandon, Camron, Hunter, Colton, and River; great grandchildren, Mataya, Emily, Austin, Christian, Ayrihanna, Anthony , Calib, and Dyllan.; two sisters, Genevieve Virginia Adkins, and Elizabeth Adkins; and two brothers, Joseph Mitchell and Dennis Mitchell. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, April 21, 2022 at the Woodmere Memoria Park Abbey of Remembrance with Pastor Jerry Matt officiating.
